Theodore R. Gamble, Jr.
Ted Gamble is Co-Founder and a senior principal of the firm. He serves as a Managing Director of Prescott Holdings, LLC and of its two principal operating subsidiaries, Prescott Investment Management, LLC and Prescott Capital, LLC, and serves on Prescott’s Management, Operating and Investment Committees. He is also a Managing Director of Prescott Corporate Properties, Prescott’s investment vehicle in the net lease sector. He is responsible for developing and structuring new investment initiatives for Prescott, including new funds, joint ventures, and other platform relationships. He has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since the establishment of its initial investment and financial advisory entities in 1987 and approves all capital commitments by the firm and its subsidiaries. He has wide ranging experience in the development, acquisition, financing, management, and sale of a broad range of real estate assets and entities and has extensive expertise in the corporate finance and capital markets issues relating to all aspects of the real estate industry.
Prior to co-founding Prescott, he was a Principal of Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. where he performed investment, transaction execution, business development, and management functions as a senior member of the firm’s real estate unit. His responsibilities included raising capital for real estate assets and entities in the public and private capital markets; advising corporations on corporate owned real estate and arranging credit backed financings; directing the real estate component of major merger and acquisition assignments; leading Morgan Stanley’s development counseling activities; overseeing Morgan Stanley’s real estate business development efforts in the southwestern U.S.; founding and heading Morgan Stanley’s Hotel Group, the unit of the firm responsible for the financing and sale of properties and companies in the lodging and leisure industries; structuring and managing investments for Morstan, the vehicle created to invest Morgan Stanley’s capital in the real estate sector in conjunction with major institutional and corporate investors; and managing the selection, underwriting, and acquisition of significant U.S. real estate assets on behalf of international investors.
Ted Gamble was born in St. Louis, Missouri and received an A.B. degree from Princeton University, a Master in Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. He has served as a senior member of multiple professional, financial and real estate industry organizations including the Urban Land Institute, a global multi-disciplinary organization that advocates responsible and sustainable long term development and land use policies. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of various corporate and non-profit entities. He has served as Chair of the Visiting Committee of Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, Co-Chair of its Advisory Committee on Real Estate Development and Co-Chair of its Dean’s Advisory Committee. He has also been actively involved with a range of civic, educational, and charitable organizations and has served as a member of the Visiting Committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Vice President, Finance and a member of the Executive Board of the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America; a Trustee of the New-York Historical Society; President and member of the Board of Governors of the Princeton Club of New York; a member of the Princeton University Alumni Council; the Vice Chancellor and a member of the Executive Committee of the American Priory of the Order of St. John; and the Chair of the Board of Directors of the British Architectural Library Trust, the non-profit entity that supports the library and collections of the Royal Institute of British Architects in London. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. affiliate of Virtus Trust, an international trustee and corporate management organization based in Guernsey in the Channel Islands with a global network of trust companies.
